The Indigenous Department actively identifies and nurtures talented Indigenous Australians and provides funding opportunities for them to participate in the film, television and interactive media production industry.
The department aims to fund projects that display bold, distinctive authorial voices that are diverse and culturally engaging. The department also takes a proactive role in shaping and influencing the policy environment for issues affecting Indigenous screen content creators.
