The Commonwealth Government’s agency Screen Australia replaced Film Australia, the Australian Film Commission and the Film Finance Corporation from 1 July 2008.
The former Film Australia was an Australian Government-owned company, whose mission was to create an audiovisual record of Australian life. In its 60 years it became one of the nation's leading producers of television documentaries and educational programs.
This site provides access to archived Film Australia information, including annual reports, newsletters, publications and media releases.
From 1 July 2011 the Library and Program Sales functions of the former Film Australia transferred to the National Film and Sound Archive.
