Screen Australia's industry standard A-Z Budgets are intended as a guide to preparing budgets in the format that is usually required by funding bodies. There are separate budgets for feature films, short films, documentaries, interactive digital media and animation. All Budgets are provided as downloadable Excel spreadsheets and are suitable for both PC and Macintosh users. In order to use the budgets you will need a degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
We have taken great care to ensure that the formulas in the budgets are correct. However, we acknowledge that as people use the budgets, they will pick up formula errors. Whenever errors are discovered, we will publish them - please check Updates and Corrections regularly.
If you wish us to inform you of any errors/corrections, please email info@screenaustralia.gov.au
Note: "QAPE" refers to the Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure component of the Producer Offset. QAPE versions of the A-Z feature and the documentary budgets, which provide an indication of the QAPE status of your budget line items, are available for Producer Offset applicants. See Producer Offset for more information.
A-Z Feature Film Budget non-QAPE
Be sure to check the Features Updates and Corrections page if you have been using previous versions of these budgets.
Attention: Error found in budget: Our apologies if you downloaded either the QAPE feature budget (v4 June 08) or non-QAPE feature budget (v3 dated Feb 08).
The error is on the Budget worksheet. In the QAPE version of the budget, cell M1375 should be the sum of L1275:L1374, not M1275:M1374. For the non-QAPE version, cell M1157 should be L1064:L1156, not M1064:M1156. You can either make this correction yourself, or please download the appropriate new version here above. Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused
