In 2006/07 there were 45 digital game
development services businesses in Australia, generating a total income
of $136.9 million with an operating profit margin of 6.2 per cent.
Income from the provision of digital game development
services accounted for 85.4 per cent of total income, of which 79.1 per
cent was received from overseas sources. Government funding contributed
1.2 per cent.
