Number, total production budgets (current dollars) and hours of children’s series, mini-series and telemovies shot 1990/91–2008/09

Almost all the budgets for Australian children’s TV drama are spent in Australia but lesser amounts are spent here by co-productions and foreign projects. Amounts spent overseas by Australian productions relate principally to animated productions that sub-contract time-intensive work to overseas companies, mainly in Asia. In 2008/09, the 15 children’s TV drama productions spent $103 million (84 per cent) of their budgets in Australia.
