Characteristics of households with a dedicated games machine, 2002Updates unavailable Predictably, households with children under 15 are more likely to have a dedicated games machine, with 61 per cent having one in 2002, compared to 20 per cent of households without children. A games machine was also more common in households with an income over $50,000 than in lower-income households, but there was very little difference in terms of region (metropolitan versus ex-metropolitan). For comparisons with household penetration in 1998 and 2000, see Media and communications devices: Household penetration. Data is also available on the penetration of games consoles in households with children aged 8-17, which compares 1995 and 2007: see Media and communication devices: Household penetration and children’s access.
