Animated films from all over the world are presented every two years during six days of the festival. Over the past 10 years, Stuttgart has developed into the second largest event of its kind in the world. The festival’s aim is to offer artistic animated films in a modern and attractive forum. Australian animations have featured strongly in this festival for many years.

In addition to the above competition sections, the festival also has a non-competitive program consisting of a Best of Animation, International Panorama and In Persona.
