Blog platform Screen Intel gives Australian screen practitioners a new edge

Screen Australia has today announced a new blog platform called Screen Intel which will draw on the research, financial data and insights held within the agency. Featuring renowned screen industry journalist Sandy George, Screen Intel also provides a valuable new layer of insight into the financials, trends, deals and dynamics of screen business for practitioners and commentators.

Drawing on information and insights collated and generated by Screen Australia, Sandy is working closely with Rebecca Mostyn and the Research team, and Bernadette Rheinberger and the Business and Audience team. She is also working with individual filmmakers to ‘deep dive’ into the business workings of the industry. The goal is to help practitioners, partners, funders and decision makers to deepen their understanding of current market dynamics, and to add depth to existing coverage of industry trends.

Screen Australia launched The Screen Blog in April this year, providing a new space for commentary about Australian film and TV for culture consumers and practitioners. After a very successful first six months, The Screen Blog is now expanding into a broader platform incorporating Screen Intel as a specialist space dedicated to sharing business insights.

The dual platform – which is now live – is intended to be a vital home for insight, commentary and profiles about the local screen industry and its global context.
