Are you going to EFM?

Screen Australia is offering marketing support for producers to attend next year’s European Film Market (EFM).

WHAT IS EFM?

The EFM runs for nine days as part of the Berlin International Film Festival from 9 - 17 February 2017.

As the first major film market of the year it is a magnet for international industry professionals and is seen as a barometer for the upcoming year in film.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

The EFM is the business centre of the festival. Every year, producers, distributors, buyers and sales agents converge at the EFM, which provides a framework for sales and trade for the film industry. The EFM is open only to producers, distributors, exhibitors, exporters and importers of films, as well as professionals active in the sales and acquisition areas of video and television.

HOW CAN SCREEN AUSTRALIA HELP?

Producers wishing to attend EFM to advance their projects in development can apply to Screen Australia for up to $5,000 towards the cost of attending. Selection is by a competitive assessment process. Producers must demonstrate the suitability of their slate for this event as well as articulate a specific marketing strategy for the EFM, which will be considered alongside their credits and industry experience.

WHEN DO APPLICATIONS CLOSE?

The deadline for applications is 5pm, Friday, 25 November 2016. Find more information, funding guidelines, eligibility criteria and the application form here
