Elizabeth Taylor Sometimes
Deborah Strutt, Liz Baulch and Maude Davey's first collaboration was the award winning, MY CUNT. This film projects us into the post-human world in which the body is outmoded. The meat is despised and celebrity is a garment we buy at Target - cheap, accessible and banal. The woman in this film is not Elizabeth Taylor, but she might as well be! From behind the studio camera we enter a world where reality and hyper-reality intersect, questioning the authenticity of the processes at work in Australian politics. This brave and witty soliloquy provocatively articulates the issues surrounding what we see and what we expect from public figures and by extension, each other.
