Ways of Walking Country
The expansive Australian landscape is crisscrossed with trails that have been walked by countless generations. Even in this age of mechanised transport walking remains Australia's most popular physical activity. Sean O'Brien has spent many months on foot journeys in the company of five walkers. Each has his or her way of walking country. They are an adventurer, a bush walking pioneer, an Indigenous guide, a musician, an artist, and an ecologist. These passionate individuals show us how walking continues to inspire and inform, framing our understanding of the land, and the dramatic changes shaping our environment.
