Proyecto Vila Vila
Since 2000, Dr. Ruth Grageda, a cytologist from Bolivia, has been going to Indigenous communities around Cochabamba using her car as a mobile clinic performing free pap smear tests for Indigenous women there. In Bolivia, cervical cancer is the leading cause of female deaths, with three women a day dying of this curable disease. In 2005, Violeta Ayala and a team of Australian actors decided to join Dr. Grageda and document her work in Vila Vila, an isolated town.
