The Screen Guide

Gloria Caballe, is a dynamic Uraguayan, now in her sixties. She migrated to Australia after the 1973 military coup. This film outlines Gloria's struggle against fascism - from the Spanish Civil War, through the Second World War to present day Latin America. Despite language barriers and crippling arthritis, she has organised support in Australia for her old friend Rita Ibarburu, who has been held in a Uraguayan prison for eight years by the military regime.
