Stuttgart International Animation Festival

Genre: Animation

Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS). Animated films from all over the world are presented during the six days of the festival.

Over the past 20 plus years, Stuttgart has developed into the second largest event of its kind in the world. It offers prize money across various competitive sections- Grand Prix Euro10,000, a graduation film cash prize of Euro10,000, and an Audience Award of Euro6,000.

It attracts about 5,000 industry attendees, there for Animated Production Days – a business platform for the international animation industry- and FMX (Film & Media Exchange) and an animated video market. The festival has a free open air cinema in Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz which draws visitors and locals to its family friendly and accessible programs.

Tips for Attendees

‘A large amount of business is done here in a rather informal manner.’

‘I rubbed shoulders with my inspirers, made and built upon relationships and kept my finger on the proverbial pulse. It was a really interesting period of research and learning.’
