Funding programs
Who: New, emerging or experienced screen content creators who demonstrate an ability and passion for storytelling combined with a distinctive and authentic creative voice.
What: Funding for a lower budget series or one-off long form drama project for any platform. Budget thresholds are:
- Online one-off or series - under $10,000 per minute.
- Extended Reality - under $15,000 per minute.
- One-off or series for a Commissioning Platform - under $1.3 million per hour.
- Feature Films - under $3 million.
Who: Screen content creators who have a significant track record/production credits on projects that have commercial success and/or critical acclaim.
What: Funding for a higher budget series or one-off long form drama project of ambition and scale for any platform. Budget thresholds are:
- Online one-off or series - over $10,000 per minute.
- Extended Reality - over $15,000 per minute.
- One-off or series for a Commissioning Platform - at least $1.3 million per hour. We may prioritise series of longer lengths (8 broadcast hours or more).
- Feature Films - at least $3 million.
Screen Australia often partners with other organisations or platforms on special initiatives. These initiatives leverage finance from third parties in order to grow the funding pool available to practitioners, or to otherwise advance digital storytelling activities and talent escalation.
