Scene Change explores the impact of extensive hours worked by practitioners in the film and television industry and, through budget modelling and analysis, explores three production alternatives: an 8-hour day, a 9-day fortnight, and job-sharing. For the purpose of this exploration, the three different models were applied to a high-end Australian scripted television 6 x 1hr drama series.

The findings suggest these models do not significantly increase costs and will more than likely deliver long-term benefits improving much needed workforce retention, diversity, wellbeing, efficiency, and even creative output.
