The Albanese Labor Government has made new appointments to the Screen Australia board.
- Dr Tania Chambers OAM appointed as Deputy Chair to the board of Screen Australia for a 3-year term.
- Mr Christopher Chard appointed as a member to the board of Screen Australia for a 3-year term.
Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, said the appointees’ industry experience was well suited to their respective roles.
“The years of experience from both Tania and Chris will be an asset to the Screen Australia Board, ensuring its continued success.”
Dr Tania Chambers OAM has extensive experience in the Australian screen industry as a creator and in governance roles. She has produced films and television series including God Bless You, Mr Kopu (2026), Invisible Boys (2025), How to Please a Woman (2022), Itch (2020), A Few Less Men (2017) and Kill Me Three Times (2015). She has previously held several notable positions in the Australian screen industry including Chief Executive Officer of Screen NSW and of Screenwest. In 2016, Dr Chambers was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the Arts and to Film and Television. She was recently nominated for 2026 Western Australian of the Year for her contributions to Arts and Culture.
Mr Christopher Chard is a senior Australian screen industry executive with more than 30 years’ experience across film and television distribution, production and international content. He is currently the managing partner of CME Pty Ltd, a media firm advising on Australian and international screen content distribution, financing and negotiations. Mr Chard has previously held senior roles in Roadshow Films Group including as Co-Chief Executive Officer. Mr Chard currently sits on the boards of Creative Content Australia, and has previously served on the board of FilmNation LLC, Australian Home Entertainment Distributors Association and Austereo Group.
