Smart for a Girl - ROAR

Imogen Banks Producer

Imogen Banks is a multi-award-winning creator and producer. Imogen started in the business as an agent representing writers and directors at RGM, which led to a role in the development of the AFI, Logie and ASTRA nominated Foxtel drama Dangerous, which she co-produced with John Edwards. Together with John Edwards and writer Fiona Seres, the SHOWTIME showcase series Tangle, with the first season receiving five Logie nominations. Tangle was commissioned for another two series receiving a further 16 Logie, AFI and ASTRA award nominations, with four wins. Imogen co-created (with Debra Oswald and John Edwards), and produced, Network Ten hit series Offspring, which over five series has garnered many Logie, AFI, and AACTA wins, including the Gold Logie for Asher Keddie. Imogen produced two series of the AACTA and Logie Award winning Puberty Blues for Network Ten (with John Edwards). Imogen and John also developed the ABC mini-series Paper Giants, and produced Party Tricks and the eight-hour mini-series Gallipoli for the Nine Network. Most recently Imogen produced The Beautiful Lie, a six-part mini-series for the ABC which was nominated for a Logie, and the sixth season of Offspring.

Alice Bell Writer

Alice Bell’s debut screenplay was the multi-award winning feature film Suburban Mayhem. It screened at the Cannes Film Festival and then Toronto International Film Festival and won an AWGIE for Best Original Screenplay, was nominated for a Victorian Premier’s Literary Award, an AFI Award and an IF Award. Alice has written many high-end Australian dramas. She wrote, co-created and script produced The Beautiful Lie for the ABC, which was nominated for a Logie for Most Outstanding Television Mini-series. Alice wrote and script-produced series 1 and 2 of Puberty Blues, which was nominated for Best Television Drama Series and won the coveted award for Best Television Drama in 2013; furthermore one of Alice’s episodes was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2013 AACTA Awards. She was a writer on television drama The Slap; her episode, Connie, was nominated for an AWGIE for Best Mini-series Adaptation. Alice’s other television credits include Spirited, for which she won an AWGIE Award, and Rush. She is currently writing for series 6 of Offspring and Doctor, Doctor. She has two feature film projects in the later stages of development, Gin & Tonic with director Cherie Nowlan, and The Circus with director Emma Freeman.
