Australian projects selected for No Borders in New York

Three Australian projects have been selected for the prestigious No Borders International Co-Production Market in New York, which takes place during the city's annual Independent Film Week.

The selected projects are The Seduction from producer Bryan Brown, to be directed by Rachel Ward; My Mistress from producer Leanne Tonkes, executive producer Robyn Kershaw and director Stephen Lance; and Music of My Life from producer Sally Madgwick and executive producer Tim White.

Additionally, The Mechanicals from producer Nicole O’Donohue and director Leon Ford has been selected as an alumni project of Cinemart and its relationship with No Borders.

There was a strong line-up of Australian projects and filmmaking teams in competition for the slots. The selected projects come from three states – New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

A total of 45 international feature film projects have been selected by IFP, based on artistic merit and marketplace exposure. Producers will be provided with professional pitching and industry consultation prior to participation. Throughout Film Week, producers will take part in one-to-one meetings with film financiers, distributors, sales agents and festival programmers.

No Borders will take place 18–22 September 2011.
