Ruth Harley to announce new multiplatform projects at Sydney Film Festival

CEO Ruth Harley set to announce 14 new screen projects that will push the envelope of creative storytelling.

As part of the Sydney Film Festival’s focus on interactive storytelling, Screen Australia invites you to come and be the first to hear Chief Executive Ruth Harley announce the details of 14 new screen projects that will push the envelope of creative storytelling.

The projects are to be supported through the second funding round of Screen Australia’s All Media Production and Digital Ignition programs.

The announcement will be followed by a Sydney Film Festival panel on interactive storytelling, which will include profiles of a number of award-winning projects supported by Screen Australia, including the Peter Rasmussen Innovation Award winner Justin Wight discussing Double Happy vs. The Infinite Sadness, and Anna Grieve discussing SXSW Interactive Award–winner Big Stories, Small Towns. Screen Australia’s Investment Manager Mike Cowap will join the panel to talk about the workings of the fund in detail.

The panel will also include Nick Doherty, SBS Online’s Managing Editor, and will be chaired by Mike Jones, AFTRS Screen Studies lecturer (and Head of Story at Portal Entertainment).

The funding announcement by Dr Harley will be made at 7pm on Friday 15 June 2012 at the Sydney Film Festival Hub at Lower Town Hall (entrance Druitt St), immediately preceding EXPERT TALKS: Interactive Storytelling.

The next round of the production fund, which will now operate under the new name Multiplatform Production, will close on 8 August 2012. Digital Ignition will close on 10 October 2012. Revised guidelines will be available from Friday 15 June.
