Australians head to Sunny Side of the Doc

Screen Australia is supporting a delegation of more than 25 Australian producers to attend this year’s Sunny Side of the Doc.

There will be two Australian teams pitching at the market on Wednesday 25 June: Sonya Pemberton and Harry Panagiotidis from Genepool Productions will pitch their project Uranium: Twisting the Dragon’s Tail from SBS and Dr Niall Doran from Bookend Enterprises will pitch Sixteen Legs.

After 25 years, Sunny Side of the Doc has become an important international marketplace for documentaries and a base for 300 commissioners and high-level buyers, 120 distributors and 2,000 professionals from around 60 countries.

Screen Australia has produced Australia at Sunny Side of the Doc, a delegation directory which includes company and project information on the Australian delegates. The directory will be made available to all Sunny Side attendees. State agencies have also supported the Australian delegation by providing travel grants for a number of participants.

Australia at Sunny Side of the Doc is a key resource for international delegates wishing to do business with Australian companies. In addition, Screen Australia is working with Sunny Side to facilitate targeted business opportunities for Australian producers attending the market.

Delegates will be able to use the official Screen Australia stand to conduct meetings, as well as have access to pre-market consultation, workshops, and a breakfast event with the South Korean delegation.
