Berlin selector visits Australia

Official delegate for the Berlin International Film Festival Maryanne Redpath will visit Australia in October to view films for potential preselection.

Generally considered one of the top three film festivals in the world, Berlinale is an important annual event for the international film industry. In addition to the festival screening around 400 titles each year, the European Film Market is attended by more than 8,000 industry professionals; 500 producers, sales agents and distributors attend the Berlinale Co-Production Market; and emerging creatives from around the world participate in Berlinale Talents.

In 2014, the Australian line-up at Berlinale included The Turning created by Robert Connolly, Sophie Hyde’s 52 Tuesdays, Warwick Thornton’s The Darkside, Rhys Graham’s Galore, plus short films Snowblind and Emo (The Musical).

The festival accepts international entries in the following sections: Competition, Panorama, Forum, Generation and Berlinale Shorts.

Eligible Australian feature films for the 2015 Berlinale may be viewed by Maryanne in Australia.

The Berlin International Film Festival will take place 5–15 February 2015.

If your feature film meets the festival entry requirements please contact Dale Fairbairn. Festival entry requirements can be found on the Berlinale website. Submission deadline to Screen Australia is 5pm, Wednesday 1 October.
