SCREEN FOREVER: A month out

SCREEN FOREVER is just around the corner, so here are some of the highlights announced so far.

In case you haven’t had a chance to look at the schedule yet, here are some of the program highlights announced so far for the three-day conference in November. Expect the full program announcement soon.

MEET THE BUYERS

Find out what the broadcasters, SVOD and Foxtel want at the Meet the Buyer panels, where 24 local and international development executives, commissioning editors, programmers and controllers will reveal what they are looking for. The discussions will be split across seven panels, with each one focused on either ABC TV, SBS TV, FOXTEL, Network Ten, Nine Network, Seven Network or Stan.

2016 HECTOR CRAWFORD MEMORIAL LECTURE

Each year, an esteemed figure from the sector delivers the Hector Crawford Memorial Lecture and 2016 is no different, with novelist, producer, director and editor Posie Graeme-Evans taking the stage. Graeme-Evans was also a former Director of Drama at the Nine Network, is on the board of Screen Tasmania and has worked within the Australian screen industry for four decades.

IN CONVERSATION WITH…

A number of interesting In Conversation series will take place across SCREEN FOREVER, including discussions with:

  • ABC Managing Director Michelle Guthrie

SPA CONNECT

The inaugural SPA Connect was launched as an extension to SCREEN FOREVER’s International Partnership Market (IPM), which has helped forge new business partnerships, and in turn, created or advanced screen projects. IPM will now be a part of SPA Connect, which will also include Roundtables, Ready Steady Pitch, and a new initiative called Domestic Partnership Market (DPM).

SCREEN FOREVER GALA

After a jam-packed schedule, this is the chance for the industry to relax and celebrate another year of quality Australian screen titles – and the people who made them – with the Screen Producers Australia Awards.
