Screen Australia is offering free access to a one-day forum led by renowned US producer Sheila Hanahan Taylor (Final Destination, Oddball), designed to help screen creatives pitch themselves and their projects to the local and US market. For those not located in Sydney, a free live stream is also being provided.

A good pitch opens a door, a great pitch sells a project. Sheila will spend the day weaving together pitch strategies, meeting etiquette, story sense, branding, and all manner of approaches to making your material sound and feel like the great idea it is.

THE FORUM

  • Monday 16 July 2018
  • Domain Theatre, Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney
  • Arrive from 10:30am for an 11:00am start. Forum finishes at 5:00pm.
  • Lunch will be catered.
  • Registration is essential for entry. Tickets are strictly non-transferable.
  • Registrations are for a single person only (i.e. you cannot bring a guest).
  • Registrations close Friday 6 July 2018 unless ticket allocation is exhausted prior.
  • This forum will be aimed at female creatives, but all are welcome to register.

SHEILA HANAHAN TAYLOR

Sheila Hanahan Taylor is the founder of Practical Pictures, a production company specialising in studio pictures with global appeal. As a cradle-to-grave producer, Sheila’s skill set includes story development, marketplace analysis, fundraising and budgeting, on-set creative producing, and editing. Sheila has been involved with numerous studio franchises including American Pie, Cats & Dogs, Final Destination and was the producer on Australian feature Oddball. The films Sheila has worked on as an executive or producer have grossed over US $2 billion in worldwide box office sales from a total production cost of USD $448 million.

Sheila was previously a Senior Executive at Zide/Perry Entertainment and prior to that, worked for Oscar® nominees Gil Netter and the Zucker Brothers, developing such films as My Best Friend's Wedding. In addition to producing, Sheila also sits on numerous film boards and teaches at Universities around the globe. Sheila currently teaches and works as a consultant with Carnegie Mellon, University of Southern California, Columbia College Chicago L.A. and Fox Studios.

At Fox, Sheila develops TV pilots with their Writers Intensive Program and films with their Global Directors Initiative.
