Applications open for Rideback USA Placements

Screen Australia’s Enterprise People program presents an opportunity for up to two screen creatives to undertake a six month placement at Rideback in Los Angeles.

Rideback, formerly known as Lin Pictures, is a production company that produce premium film and television content for global audiences. Their projects include The LEGO Movie, Sherlock Holmes and IT.

Screen Australia will support one emerging and one mid-career creative. The successful applicants will gain invaluable professional experience which will help to develop their careers and contribute wider benefits to the Australian screen industry upon return from the placement. First Nations Australians and people from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Each placement will have a bespoke professional development plan which may include; reading and evaluating feature film and TV scripts; writing coverage and script notes; conducting creative and market research; participating in creative meetings, studio meetings and pitch meetings; assisting with drafting pitch documents; and production-related tasks.

Up to AUD $50,000 is available per applicant to cover any costs such as US Visa requirements, travel, accommodation, transport and other living expenses.

Applicants must be available to start the placement in mid-July for six months and be able to qualify for a USA Visa. Applicants will also need to meet Screen Australia’s Terms of Trade.

Applications close Friday, 24 May 2019 and can be made through the Enterprise People program: applicants will need to select the "Career Placements" option, followed by "Targeted Placement Initiative" in the application form.
