Through the Screen Story Development Fund, Screen Australia supports content creators to take advantage of existing and emerging opportunities to develop compelling drama stories.

About the role

We are currently seeking a talented professional to join our Development team. Working collaboratively with the broader Production and Development teams, this position will assess applications for Development funding and manage a slate of funded projects across Screen Australia’s Development fund and related programs.

This position is offered for a maximum contract of 2 years with the opportunity to be offered for an additional term of 2 years.

About you

  • Demonstrated experience in story development across a range of projects of any genre (factual or scripted) in the screen or broader arts industry
  • A keen understanding of the fundamental principles of storytelling
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Australian and International screen industry, the key players, practitioners, upcoming talent and trends
  • Experience evaluating ideas, scripts and other proposals with the ability to assess the production and budget implications of scripts and project proposals
  • Be experienced managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering to deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
