The Australian Directors Guild (ADG), Screen Australia and Playmaker Media have today announced director Julietta Boscolo as the director’s attachment to Geoff Bennett on the Playmaker TV series Love Child, which is currently in production.

The Director’s Attachment Scheme is an incentive program to help emerging directors develop their craft. It is funded by Screen Australia and managed by the ADG. This year the scheme will provide candidates with attachment opportunities on up to six TV drama series and three feature films.

Julietta Boscolo started directing several years ago after graduating from the VCA with a number of very successful short films including the recent Sam’s Gold, which won the ADG Best Direction in a Short Film in 2014 and was selected for over a dozen national and international festivals. She was also one of nine filmmakers worldwide selected for the Binger Filmlab Directors Lab, Amsterdam in 2013.

Julietta Boscolo said, “I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to be chosen for this attachment on such a successful production. This is perfect timing and a perfect opportunity to move into directing for television.”

Screen Australia’s Senior Development Executive, Nerida Moore said, “Screen Australia recognises the importance of ongoing talent development opportunities, and is proud to support this through the Director’s Attachment Scheme. We are delighted for Julietta to be gaining this exceptional opportunity to learn from some of the best on an award winning television production. It will be an integral experience that informs both her practice and that of future recipients.”

Earlier in 2015, Christopher Stollery was attached to Grant Brown on the TV series House Husbands which was the first TV attachment under the ADG scheme.

Previous placements include: Grant Sputore attached to Kriv Stenders on Kill Me Three Times, Stephen McCallum attached to Tony Ayres on Cut Snake, Matthew Moore attached to Robert Connolly on Paper Planes, and Ariel Martin attached to Neil Armfield on Holding the Man.
