Why Australian screen stories matter

Image

Today Screen Australia Board Members Megan Brownlow (Deputy Chair) and Joanna Werner will participate in the first session at the ACMA Australian Content Conversation conference, entitled The 'vibe': What is Australian content? Does it matter? The session will open with a reel voiced by actor Aaron Pedersen showcasing iconic Australian screen moments (view on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter).

The two-day conference comes at a critical time for Australian screen policy ahead of the recently announced review of Australian and children’s screen content. The ACMA conference will feature more than 50 speakers from the major television networks, key local production houses, online content providers and Australian and international government representatives, exploring the challenges and opportunities facing our local screen content industry.

The conference will be opened by Senator the Hon. Mitch Fifield, Minister for Communications and the Arts. Screen Australia’s Chief Operating Officer Fiona Cameron and Multiplatform Investment Manager Mike Cowap will also take part. The full program is available here.

Over the next two days Australians are encouraged to share their favourite screen memories using the hashtag #AusContentConvo
