Rotterdam Lab call for applications

The 41st International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) will take place from 25 January to 5 February 2012.

As part of the international co-production market CineMart, the annual Rotterdam Lab will run from Sunday 29 January to Wednesday 1 February.

The Rotterdam Lab was established for emerging producers to develop skills for taking their projects to international financing markets. It is an opportunity to hone pitching skills, develop finance strategies and network with international sales agents, financiers and producers at CineMart and the IFFR. Many participating producers have gone on to have their projects selected for the CineMart co-production market, and finished films selected to screen at the IFFR.

As a partner organisation, Screen Australia will nominate three producers to attend the 2012 Rotterdam Lab and will offer travel assistance of $3,000 each. Five nights' accommodation in Rotterdam will be provided by the festival. In order to be eligible you must have a feature film script in development thematically suited to the festival, with the potential to be a future CineMart project.

Travel assistance guidelines and application forms are available to download from the Screen Australia website.

Applications close on Friday 11 November 2011. Successful participants will be notified in early December.
