Apply now for support to attend WCSFP

Screen Australia is offering marketing support for producers to attend this year’s World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Derek Muller

A member-run annual event for producers specialising in science and history programs, it attracts more than 200 broadcasters each year and approximately 400 producers from around the world. The conference sessions highlight industry trends and producers are able to advance new projects and find new production partners. Held from 5 - 8 December 2016, the host broadcaster this year is Swedish public broadcaster, SVT.

In 2016 the “What’s the Buzz?” session will be co-hosted by Australia’s Derek Muller, creator and host of top YouTube channel, Veritasium. The session will look at the year’s biggest trends and hits in science, history and factual programming.

Producers wishing to attend WCSFP to advance their projects in development can apply to Screen Australia for up to $5,000 towards the cost of attending. Selection is by a competitive assessment process. Producers must demonstrate the suitability of their slate for this event as well as articulate a specific marketing strategy for the congress, which will be considered alongside their credits and industry experience.

More information about the WCSFP is available on its website and here on the our market profile page.

The application deadline is 23 September 2016, and applicants will be informed of the decision mid-October.
