Australia: Unknown Country

'Australian Pilbara', together with 'Australian Kimberley' are the first two episodes in a proposed series the overall title of AUSTRALIA: UNKNOWN COUNTRY. The Kimberley plateau is a land of contrast and change. The area is rich in Aboriginal culture, and many of the local customs are still being practised today. The Australian Pilbara was first discovered in 1620 by the Dutch, but such is the desolation of the area that no claim was made.
