Synopsis

One in ten Australian students has been cyberbullied, and tragically there have been cyberbullying related suicides. Through the anonymity of cyberspace - email, Facebook, Twitter and texts - a malicious hate campaign can be mounted in minutes, leaving a victim hurt, demeaned, excluded and isolated. But new research shows if just one person stands up, they can make all the difference. Compass follows two school programs that are helping students recognise and deal with cyberbullying by focusing on the role bystanders can play in shutting it down.
