Between The Flags...Beyond The Beach

Australia has developed the most integrated cost effective, coastal rescue and surveillance network. A total of 37,000 trained surf lifesavers patrol 400 of the country’s beaches during the swimming season. Surf lifesavers in Australia have performed over 500,000 rescues since they began in early 1900’s. They are ordinary people doing an extraordinary job.
