Boat, The

It is a hot summer day in the 1960s; the sun beats down on the rural Australian landscape. Anna visits her best friend Laura, who is tending to her mother, the temperamental Mrs Larsen in their stuffy lounge room. Mrs Larsen sends the girls with strict instructions to buy her an ice cream, and return straight home. Not just any ice cream. This is The Boat Ice Cream - a boat shaped biscuit filled with vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate sauce, with a juicy red strawberry in the middle. It is a long way home from the ice cream van in the sweltering heat.
