This charming short film reveals a childish world. It is a simple story of poverty and a little girl's guilt. Annie takes something she has always wanted - 72 Derwent pencils - but finds, as in Dostoevsky's 'Crime and Punishment', that they bring her no pleasure because her conscience gives her no rest. She throws them into the creek...but they don't sink...
