Debt, The

June is adopted by Anna, a renowned concert pianist living with the scars of an unspoken tragedy. In a manor house surrounded by lush, expansive grounds, June seeks Anna’s favour, even as her new caretaker veers between quiet tenderness, deep mourning and sharp rage. But this place holds secrets: the nightmarish paintings lining the hallways seem to capture June in their gaze. Strange men watch her from the estate’s perimeter. The pills Anna gives her each night are preludes to disturbing dreams. As Anna’s veneer begins to crack, so does June’s sense of safety. She resolves to find the truth and soon learns she is merely a pawn in a deadly covenant.
