Synopsis
The experiences of four people who left school illiterate - and the reasons why three of them have decided, as adults, to learn to read and write. The four are actress Joan Brockenshaw, earth-moving contractor Ray Hislop, Trish O'Sullivan, and former prisoner Bob Craig, who now has a degree in social sciences. The program also questions the reasons why people can pass through a modern-day education system and still emerge illiterate.
