Gulf Battlers

The story of modern-day pioneers Elton and Maude Forshaw, who first met when they were head stockman and cook on a sprawling Top End cattle station. They longed for a place of their own, and eventually managed to buy Yeldham Station, little more than a block of dirt and an old tin shed, with no stock and few prospects of success. After a decade of hardship, they have succeeded, and Elton has become Councillor Forshaw of Burke Shire.
