Lala Road, The

Three young Chinese women making important choices about their future lives. Each faces intense pressure from their parents to marry before they are too "old". This after all is the road that their culture dictates they were born to travel. But to follow this path would mean not being able to live their truth. All three identify as lesbians - "lalas" in Chinese. This documentary tells their story as they follow their own roads, a story of women negotiating ways to be true to their families, their culture and themselves. It's a journey that could take them far away from China. But one they hope will ultimately allow them to love who they want and to be loved for who they are.
