Late Afternoon

A young woman comes home and puts the kettle on. She pours out some milk for the cat. There's no answer to the knocks on her flatmate's door. She goes out to the backyard toilet. Then the kettle boils and the plumber from the gas company shows up. (Sequel to EARLY NIGHT).
