Mandaeans: The Water People

Mandaeans are followers of one of the world's oldest religions. Originally from Iraq and Iran, Mandeans are today scattered across the globe having fled war and religious persecution in their homelands. They number around 70,000 worldwide and 5,000 live in western Sydney. Mandaeans are born into their faith and conversions are not allowed, even for marriage, so what will this mean for the new generation of Mandaeans growing up and creating a new life in a new land?
