Synopsis
In life there are babies who are born to die. But, in a quiet revolution in recent years, more babies are surviving their death sentences because of modern medicine and care. Nowhere is that revolution more obvious than at the Neo-Natal Unit of Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital. The hospital is the busiest children's hospital in the world and tiny babies come here from around Australia, Asia, the Pacific - and even further afield - for top class treatment. Channel Seven's cameras were given unprecedented access and for more than six weeks the team followed the conflict between life and death as parents watched their newborn babies fight for their lives. We meet the doctors and nurses who work with these babies and live with them through their dilemmas about who should receive treatment and for how long. We see the babies who fight and win.
