Montsalvat

Montsalvat is an improbable Australian dream - an echo of mediaeval Europe set in the Australian bush on the outskirts of Melbourne. It began as an artists' colony in 1935, and became the focus of Australian bohemia. The followers of Justus Jorgensen constructed a remarkable group of buildings under the magnetic influence of a man called a genius, a guru and a domineering tyrant.
