Synopsis

THE NARROW BRIDGE reveals how after profound pain, people develop strengths they never had before. We follow the stories of four people whose child or parent was killed in violent conflict, but instead of finding hate or despair Bushra, Rami, Meytal, and Bassam are transforming their loss into compassion and social activism. Through her lens as a trauma psychologist, Australian director Esther Takac accompanies these individuals through heartbreaking pain and courageous shifts in thinking, discovering who they used to be, who they are now and how their trauma changed them. Their stories are not just personal; they all belong to a grassroots movement of heartbroken people determined to change the culture of conflict. Despite fierce opposition, they never give up.
