Obadiah is a middle aged man who has been isolated in the mountains with his religious family since he was a small boy. When Obadiah wanders after a lost kite he comes face to face with modern civilisation in the form of a large billboard. Obadiah believes it to be an angel - a sign that the beast is to come. When the 'beast' does arrive Obadiah gets his birthday wish.
