Nearly a quarter of the whole country lives in Sydney, capital city of New South Wales. Australia's biggest and oldest city has many admirers, including those who claim it is the most beautiful city in the world. Certainly Sydney is blessed by nature and has enormous character and charm, but as Bill Peach discovers, its problem are just as big.
