Thapelo: A Prayer for Africa

Today, South Africa is in the grip of a number of epidemics. One in two children will die of AIDS, one in two women will be raped, and the country has the world's worst homicide rate - 20,000 every year. Against the backdrop of these appalling statistics, THAPELO tells the story of the spirit of its people. Against all odds, including a government in denial and drug companies only interested in profits, there are those who work tirelessly to support sufferers and victims and to bring a message of hope to South Africans. These people are South Africa's only prayer.
