Treasure

The theme of entrapment, both physical and psychological, predominates throughout this film. The first half sees the character frustrated and wanting to escape the tiny dark cell he's in. He wills himself out into a contrasting environment of wide open beach space and commits alchemy on the beach. He has found his freedom, but still in a state of discontentment he wishes to return to the 'inside' again - an impossible wish. Thus, a strange birthing film.
