Synopsis
WIND AND STONE is a nature film made on location in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Filmed on 16mm, it is concerned with the geological formation of the mountains by water erosion. The beauty of the vast eroded canyons with their creeks and waterfalls is contrasted with the intimate world of the brightly coloured parrots and flowering plants. The film is fast paced using structured sequences of images to convey information with minimal voice over narration. WIND AND STONE attempts to create a sense of immediacy for the viewer, evoking the actual experience of spending time in this beautiful fascinating area.
