Young Tom

For five generations, the Browns have worked their small timber mill at Mountain River Valley in southern Tasmania. Young Tom is 16, and his father, Darryl, hopes he will one day take over the family business. But things are changing - most of the areas around the valley have been committed to woodchipping, and nearly all the other small sawmillers have been forced to sell out to the big companies. Darryl Brown won't sell - he's struggling to keep the mill going, for the sake of his son.
